Job Summary
Create and implement holistic plant sanitation programs, policies, and procedures for the manufacturing plant, warehouse, and grounds. Assess and mitigate safety risks associated with construction and major maintenance while evaluating facility conditions against food safety and public health principles. Manage the integrated pest control program, develop sanitation training for employees, and maintain detailed Standard Operating Procedures for all equipment. Coordinate with operations leadership and site crews to achieve desired environmental monitoring and pest control performance, ensuring compliance with FDA, OSHA, and Abbott policies. Manage the department budget, including cost savings initiatives, and hire and retain a diverse staff. This role supports Abbott Nutrition's Casa Grande facility, which produces leading brands like Similac and Ensure.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree (± 16 years)
- Minimum 5 years experience
- In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire
Desired Qualifications
- Certification as a Sanitarian and Pesticide Application
- Understanding and application of microbiological principles with in depth food borne pathogen knowledge
- Knowledge of HACCP, Sanitation principles and Food Safety Preventive Controls (FSPC)
- Understanding of the appropriate wet cleaning and dry cleaning methodology
- Experience in successfully addressing environmental sanitation challenges in areas such as drains, floors, walls, roofs, and equipment
