Plant Quality Specialist

Job Summary

Conduct first off/last off and in-process verifications per Control Plan and Job Element Sheet requirements, performing direct testing and measuring parts to ascertain acceptability. Execute incoming Heat Treatment verification, in-process performance inspections, and audits of reworked parts while maintaining lot traceability and segregating rejected components. Submit test results and rejected reports to Quality leads, escalate anomalies regarding control characteristics or unsafe conditions, and support training for new personnel. Participate in Layered Process Audits, generate statistical studies using Minitab, and ensure all documentation adheres to IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and Dortec quality protocols.

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of post-secondary education in Quality or Engineering related field
  • ASQ or CQT or equivalent certificate
  • Detail oriented with excellent analytical observation ability
  • 3 years' previous experience working in an Automotive Quality Department
  • Blueprint reading skills
  • Knowledgeable of SPC and correct measuring techniques
  • Above average computer skills necessary in Microsoft applications
  • Team Center, Compliant Pro & minitab experience
  • Neat, legible writing ability in order to complete and maintain logs and records
  • Auditing skills and experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Energetic, organized multitasker to maintain effectiveness in fast-paced production environment
  • Strong knowledge of all measurement techniques pertaining to the products manufactured at Dortec
  • Understanding Dortec Customer expectations
  • Must adhere to all MAFACT requirements, IATF 16949 standard including OEM Customer Specifics
  • Must comply with all ISO 14001 (Environmental Standard) and Magna & Dortec Health and Safety systems as it pertains to their work

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience using metrology and analytical equipment such as Height Gauge, Micrometer, Optical Comparator, Calipers, Tensile Tester, Force Gauges, Attribute and Variable Gauges
  • Team Center, Compliant Pro & minitab experience
