Job Summary
Lead daily Quality Control operations on the manufacturing floor, managing incoming raw materials, in-process parameters, and final release protocols while supervising chemical, physical, and microbiological laboratory testing. Serve as the immediate technical authority for food safety incidents, contamination, and process deviations, making swift decisions to halt or adjust batches. Personally lead quality validation and line trials for new raw materials and packaging components, driving corrective actions for supplier non-conformances and investigating customer complaints. Maintain active alignment with GFSI, HACCP, and SMETA standards by serving as a key technical representative during third-party audits and ensuring practical shopfloor implementation of CAPA requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Engineering, Chemistry, or a closely related science-based technical discipline
- Minimum of 5+ years of active managerial experience directly leading hands-on QC operations and laboratory departments within a food, dairy, liquid beverage, or FMCG manufacturing facility
- Strong, demonstrable experience managing chemical/microbiological lab testing, instrument calibrations, on-line process validations, and physical trial runs
- Practical experience managing audits for GFSI certifications (such as FSSC 22000, BRCGS, or SQF), HACCP frameworks, and SMETA requirements
- Active registration as a Registered Food Analyst with the Malaysian Ministry of Health (KKM)
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity utilizing enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms (such as JD Edwards/JDE) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) databases
- Highly structured approach to problem-solving, with proven mastery of tools such as 5-Why Analysis, Ishikawa (Fishbone) diagrams, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
