Job Summary
Plant Operator in Winnemucca, NV with Orica OS M C team. Responsible for supporting plant operations related to rail and freight loading/unloading, and operating basic process equipment with a strong emphasis on safety, environmental responsibility, and efficiency. Tasks include monitoring product movement to/from storage tanks, recording operating data, inspecting vessels for cleanliness and weight compliance, performing railcar groundwork (connecting/disconnecting couplers, air lines, set manual brakes), assisting with railcar spotting, and general site upkeep. Requires ability to read basic instructions, write simple messages, basic math, data entry, and familiarity with computers. Shift pattern is 5x4 rotating days and nights; on-site role with PPE provided. High school diploma or GED and valid driver’s license are required. For on-site work, candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs/ramps, and drive at night as needed. This role is on-site in Winnemucca, NV; no immigration sponsorship is provided.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Ability to read and understand basic instructions, memos, and short correspondence
- Comfortable writing simple messages and communicating clearly in small group settings
- Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Able to calculate rates, ratios, and percentages as needed for operational tasks
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to apply common sense in routine situations
- Basic computer skills required (data entry, email, basic system navigation)
- Willingness to complete ongoing safety and job-related training
