Job Summary
Plant Operator needed at Chalfont Quarry to support smooth operation of plant equipment. Responsibilities include performing daily greasing and oil checks on crushers and screens, following MSHA and H&K safety policies, inspecting equipment and reporting maintenance issues, keeping the operating booth clean, assisting the crew to meet production schedules, and suggesting changes to improve efficiency. Requires a high school diploma or GED or related experience, strong verbal and written communication, leadership and teamwork, self-motivation, and safety focus; ability to pass fit tests and wear PPE; ability to meet physical requirements; prior MSHA or safety certifications preferred; 3+ months of related experience is a plus. Outdoor, loud work environment with exposure to moving parts and vibrations; pre-employment drug testing and health benefits provided.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) OR one month of related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Leadership and teamwork skills
- Self-motivated and organized
- Safety-focused
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
- Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience: 3+ months of related experience and/or training
- Experience with equipment maintenance
- Experience with heavy equipment, especially Q329 caterpillar trackhoe and LT105 portable crusher
- MSHA or other relevant safety certifications
- Physical Demands: regular sitting, use of hands, vision; lifting up to 25 pounds; outdoor work environment
- Work Environment: outdoors, loud, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles
