Job Summary
Operate a sophisticated automated wastewater pretreatment plant by ensuring all equipment functions properly and liquid chemical levels remain within tolerance. Perform daily plant checks every two hours, climb ladders to inspect systems, and conduct minor maintenance on pumps, motors, mixers, tanks, and filter presses. Execute confined space entries, shovel sludge boxes, clean plate and frame filter presses, and calibrate pH and ORP meters. Wear required PPE including acid-rated suits and respirators, pass annual respiratory fit testing, and complete all contract-mandated annual trainings. Monitor Human-Machine Interface and SCADA software to control plant operations. Maintain proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and hold current ABC Class III wastewater treatment certification.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate
- four (4) years of experience in supervising operators working in an industrial wastewater pretreatment or chemical process plant
- Will be required to lift & carry 50lb. bags of chemicals up ladders & stairs
- Will be required to climb ladders & stairs to perform plant checks every 2 hours
- Will be required to pass Respiratory Fit Testing as outlined in 29 CFR 1910.134
- Shall be knowledgeable in how to use Human–Machine Interface (HMI)/ SCADA software
- Must hold a current Association of Boards of Certification (ABC) Class III or higher Wastewater Treatment or equivalent certification
- Must be fluent in the English language, both verbally and in writing, and be able to read and understand English
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel
