Plant Operator, Sand Mine - Mansfield, LA

Job Summary
Operates and monitors wet/dry sand plant processes, documents temperatures and moisture, and adjusts equipment to meet production specifications. Works with on-board computers and automated equipment, handles decant belts, conveyors, screens, bucket elevators, and dust collectors, and maintains inventories of feeds. Coordinates with Team Lead Operator for production planning, conducts quality control tests on sand samples, and ensures compliance with safety and environmental requirements (MSHA/OSHA). Must perform routine maintenance, operate heavy plant equipment, communicate with truck drivers, and document data on daily logs. Shift is a rotating 12-hour schedule with on-call requirements; emphasizes confidentiality, safety, and efficient operation of plant facilities.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of related experience for Plant Operator II
- Knowledge in silica sand mine
- MSHA Part 49
- OSHA regulation and compliance
- Knowledge of dry sand mine process flow
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Must have valid driver’s license
- Background check and drug screening
