Job Summary
Plant Operator for Ovintiv at the Dawson North Facilities responsible for coordinating plant process operations, safety and environmental compliance, maintenance drive, and production performance. Responsibilities include managing and operating in a fast-paced environment, communicating with shift leads and operators, troubleshooting process issues, monitoring SCADA-controlled plant conditions, maintaining housekeeping standards, following safety procedures (hazard ID, lock-out, emergency response), ensuring regulatory compliance, completing work orders and continuous improvement processes, documenting logs and reports, supporting special projects and turnarounds, tracking KPIs (production, downtime, losses), and assisting incident investigations. Requires safety-focused mindset, strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, and the ability to work within a 7-on/7-off shift pattern. Required Qualifications
- British Columbia or Inter-Provincial 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate with the ability to complete a 3rd class
- Previous experience with Maximo preferred
- Operational and Maintenance experience in gas compression, dehydration, and NGL recovery preferred
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Workday
- Experience leveraging AI tools to improve operations (preferred)
- Strong mechanical/technical aptitude; problem-solving skills
- Team player with interpersonal and communication skills
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Must live within the Dawson Creek catchment area
