Job Summary
Plant Operator (NIGHT) responsibilities include loading and packaging dry ice products into containers (blocks, pellets, slices), performing daily loading and weighing, inspecting finished products for weight/density/packaging integrity, operating production machinery and material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks), and accurately logging production numbers, shipping manifests, and inventory usage. The role focuses on safe, efficient production in the Star, MS facility during the 7pm–7am shift within Airgas’ manufacturing environment, ensuring quality standards and maintaining a clean, organized facility. Beneficial skills include math proficiency, manufacturing experience, and attention to safety and quality.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, commissions, proportions, and percent
Desired Qualifications
- One year experience in a production/manufacturing environment
