Job Summary
Plant Operator role supporting operation and maintenance of oil and gas processing facilities in Midland/Odessa region. Responsible for operating and maintaining plant equipment (compressors, motors, engines, pumps, turbines, treating systems, cooling and auxiliary units), starting/stopping equipment, preparing for maintenance (LOTO/permitting), and assisting with repairs. Requires reading drawings and manuals, maintaining logs, safety/environmental reporting, and potentially DOT-related functions. Will work in on-site plant environments with exposure to heavy physical demands and travel to company locations for training. Provides opportunity to contribute to safe, compliant, and efficient processing operations in a Fortune 500 midstream company.
Required Qualifications
- Experience reading and interpreting drawings, diagrams, work logs, dials, gauges, charts, procedures, and operational and repair manuals
- Knowledge of compressor stations, storage fields, gathering fields, and/or processing plant operations
- Knowledge of computers and ability to use company software applications
- Knowledge of gas and liquid processing fundamentals
- Knowledge of applicable company and governmental operating practices and procedures
- Knowledge of safe handling of flammable gases, liquids, and high-pressure systems
- Ability to analyze, adjust, and perform minor repairs on equipment
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations
- Ability to maintain and prepare safety/environmental reports and logs
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively
