Job Summary
Operate and maintain helium refrigerators and associated test stands for cryogenic operations. Responsibilities include the assembly, installation, and maintenance of mechanical devices, as well as documenting work done. The role requires strong teamwork skills, particularly in operational and maintenance activities, and the ability to work with various tools and equipment. A background in cryogenics, strong communication skills, and a commitment to safety in a laboratory environment are essential for success.
Required Qualifications
- HS degree or technical certificate or equivalent
- 5+ years of extensive related experience or 3+ years experience at a DOE laboratory
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, flow schematics, and manufacturers' manuals
- Demonstrated ability to work with a team of technicians and engineers
- Experience with hand tools and rigging equipment
- Good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
