Job Summary
Plant Operator responsible for assisting with manufacturing, loading or unloading of chemicals, emulsified asphalt, and binder products. Duties include loading/unloading chemicals and trucks, railcar steaming/unloading, basic housekeeping, sweeping interiors, tool cleaning/storage, participating in safety meetings, teamwork, basic written recordkeeping, and adherence to environmental, health and safety rules. Requires basic math, familiarity with hand/power tools, ability to work in dirty/adverse conditions, and weekend plant checks; forklift-operation licensing and valid US driver’s license with reliable vehicle are required for progression toward level II operator.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to acquire a license for Forklift Operation
- Ability to acquire a forklift operation license (OSHA)
- Current state automobile driver's license and a reliable vehicle
- Ability to utilize a calculator for basic math
- Knowledge of basic hand and power tools
- Ability to self-start, motivate others, work with little direction
- Ability to work in a dirty and adverse work conditions
- Ability to conduct the necessary weekend checks of the plant on a rotating basis
- Observes gauges, dials, and operation of machinery to ensure conformance to processing specifications
