Job Summary
Monitor, operate, and maintain central plant equipment and utilities across hospital and clinic facilities. Respond to maintenance requests, complete preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, and document all activities using proper work order forms. Visually inspect power plant equipment, troubleshoot engineering systems, and adjust Energy Management Systems to optimize efficiency and building temperature comfort. Perform building rounds, enter inspection data, and report problems to supervisors while adhering to manufacturers' operating parameters.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Current 2nd Class Engineers Certificate for Air Condition / Refrigeration
- Experience with water treatment for heating and cooling systems
- Experience using HVAC/Temperature controls
- Experience using Energy Management Systems
- Experience using Computer Operations
- Knowledge of Pneumatic tube system operation
- Basic math skills
- Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor under stressful conditions
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to properly answer phone and resolve requests
- Ability to complete preventive maintenance and work requests promptly
- Ability to monitor and operate power plant equipment
- Ability to monitor, operate and troubleshoot engineering equipment and systems
- Ability to operate, monitor and maintain Energy Management System
- Ability to perform building rounds and equipment inspections
- Ability to exert 10 to 20 pounds of force to move objects
- Ability to occasionally exert up to 100 pounds of force
- Ability to work within a healthcare setting
- Ability to handle occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste
- Ability to work Tuesday to Saturday 2:30pm to 11:00 pm
Desired Qualifications
- Associates degree in Operating Engineering
