Job Summary
Maintain scheduled and unscheduled repairs for HVAC, elevators, fire systems, generators, and kitchen equipment across the assigned community. Perform general maintenance projects including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and emergency pull cord repairs. Respond to resident requests for room repairs and handle vacated room restorations such as wall painting and carpet cleaning. Assess plumbing and electrical problems to determine corrective actions and document safety issues and physical plan deficiencies per local, state, and federal guidelines. Maintain positive communication with fire marshals, building inspectors, and elevator authorities while filing property damage claims. Review safety data sheets for hazardous chemicals and respond to community emergencies as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of related experience and/or training
- Knowledge of building equipment, building codes, HVAC, plumbing, electrical in healthcare facilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to communicate verbally in person and over the phone
