Plant Nurse (Night Shift)

Job Summary
Provide medical care ranging from minor incidents to acting as a first responder, and support Safety Managers in coordinating health services. Maintain workers compensation information for claims, schedule doctor visits and transportation, and coordinate pre-employment physicals and drug testing. Develop and implement employee health and wellness programs, manage hearing conservation and respiratory protection training, and maintain relationships with local occupational health clinics. Work the 2nd shift with exposure to noise, heat, and animal odors. Requires current LPN or EMT certification, with COHN certification preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Certified EMT
- Paramedic
- Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) certification
- Willingness to obtain COHN certification
- Prior occupational health experience within a similar environment
- Ability to ensure confidentiality of employee health information
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Knowledge of ADA regulations
- Knowledge of FMLA regulations
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
- Willingness to work 2nd shift
- Willingness to work in an environment with exposure to noise (>85 decibels)
- Willingness to work in an environment with exposure to CO2
- Willingness to work in an environment with exposure to moving production lines
- Willingness to work in an environment with possible exposure to heat (99°F, 37°C)
- Willingness to work in an environment with possible exposure to cold (45°F, 4°C)
- Willingness to work in a wet and cold environment
- Willingness to work around live and/or raw animal odors
