Job Summary
The Plant Manager leads the Blacksburg manufacturing facility, ensuring safe, efficient operations while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and accountability. They are responsible for managing day-to-day operations, P&L, compliance, and strategic planning, while fostering strong relationships with staff and union leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or related field
- Minimum 7–10 years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience; 3+ years in a Plant Manager or Operations Manager role
- Experience managing in a unionized environment and interpreting/working with CBAs
- Proven success in Lean/CI, production scheduling, safety leadership, and P&L oversight
Desired Qualifications
- Automotive or high-volume precision manufacturing experience
- Master’s degree (MBA, Engineering Management, or related)
- Working knowledge of Plex or other ERP/MES systems
- Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification (Green/Black Belt)
