Plant Manager

Job Summary

Implement and support all company policies including food and worker safety standards. Ensure product quality meets customer requirements and enforce compliance with FDA, OSHA, and Federal/State laws. Manage daily operations by planning materials and human resources while overseeing receiving, production planning, storage, maintenance, and logistics. Direct staff activities across production, purchasing, distribution, and customer service. Establish metrics to evaluate performance, identify cost reduction areas, and maintain accountability for operating expenses. Assist in preparing annual budgets and champion team engagement through mentoring and coaching. Develop operating procedures to drive asset utilization and oversee infrastructure including offices, warehouses, and rail sidings. Monitor facility safety and security, determine staffing needs, and manage hiring and training processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in management of feed mill/manufacturing setting
  • Strong technical knowledge in manufacturing production practices and best practices
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant industry
  • Demonstrated capacity to problem solve in a complex environment by leading teams
  • Ability to efficiently manage production costs and align these costs to volume produced
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced and changing work environment
  • Ability to collaborate with cross functional departments to meet performance objectives
  • Ability to implement and oversee company policy in regard to Food Safety & worker safety
  • Willingness to be a hands-on leader and actively participate in plant operations working alongside the team in a role similar to an operator
  • Comfort working closely with employees and being involved in day-to-day production and operational activities
