Job Summary
Plant Manager at Palmer Candy's Bluff St. facility drives safety-first culture, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across production, maintenance, sanitation, warehouse, and team engagement. Leads compliance with food safety, quality, regulatory, and customer requirements, oversees KPI achievement (safety, quality, throughput, cost, delivery), and directs labor, materials, equipment, and facility resources. Partners with R&D, Quality, and Resource Planning to support new product introductions and process development; utilizes Lean/Six Sigma methodologies to identify and implement cost-reduction and productivity improvements. Provides leadership development, budgeting oversight, and capital project management while maintaining a strong presence on the production floor and fostering an inclusive, high-performing workforce.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Food Science, Operations Management, Business, or a related technical field
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a plant leadership role
- Food manufacturing experience preferred; confectionery, candy, chocolate, or consumer packaged goods (CPG) experience preferred
