Job Summary
Direct responsibility for all quarry-related aspects at the site including safety, environmental, operations, quality, production, sales and community relations. This position requires leading mine planning, overseeing drill and blast, assisting with CapEx and purchasing planning, coaching site employees, and coordinating with HR on disciplinary matters, while ensuring compliance with MSHA rules, safety, and environmental regulations to optimize production and cost. Strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities, and the capacity to work collaboratively with Operations, Maintenance, Safety/Environmental, Sales, and Finance are essential.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years' experience in Aggregates or Mining
- Previous supervisory experience
- High level understanding of MSHA rules and regulations
- Proficiency with Excel and Word
- Knowledge of processing methods and planning techniques
- Strong blasting expertise
- Ability to write reports, author business correspondence and procedure manuals
- Solid written and interpersonal communication skills
- Pass pre-employment drug screen, physical and criminal background checks
- Be willing to travel and work away from home when required
