Job Summary
Oversee operation and maintenance of multiple concrete batch plants, ensuring equipment readiness, raw material inventory control, and timely repairs to prevent quality or safety issues. Supervise assistant plant managers, operators, drivers, and yard workers while conducting regular inspections, safety meetings, and training to enforce compliance with TCEQ, OSHA, and environmental regulations. Manage daily plant openings and closings, coordinate with dispatch and sales for dependable concrete delivery, and handle waste piles and returned concrete. Operate plant equipment including front-end loaders as needed and maintain accurate documentation for all regulatory inspections.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Texas issued driver's license
- Bachelor's degree preferably in construction related field
- Proven experience in ready-mix concrete production and plant management
- Leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse workforce
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and a commitment to enforcing them
- Familiar with maintenance and troubleshooting of concrete production equipment
- Solid Knowledge of concrete mix design, quality control procedures, and industry standards
- Ability to walk, sit, lift, push, pull, and climb to a significant degree
- Ability to talk and hear regularly to communicate to employees/customers and function safely around heavy rolling equipment
- Ability to pass a drug test
- Ability to perform all job functions including pushing, turning, and/or pulling of controls
- Ability to climb a ladder and work at heights up to 80 feet
- Ability to withstand continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, high noise, and working outdoors
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment when required
- Ability to lift 100 lbs. sack 4 1⁄2 Feet high
- Availability to work a flexible schedule based on production need
