Job Summary
Plant Manager responsible for all aspects of production activity in Sheffield to ensure that products are manufactured on schedule, safely and at minimum cost. Lead safety, ethics, quality, delivery, cost, inventory and continuous improvement; drive Lean initiatives, 5S, value stream mapping, standard work cellular flow and TPM; coach and develop teams, set targets, and ensure alignment with the company’s goals. Strong emphasis on financial acumen, budgeting, and cross-functional collaboration within a large manufacturing environment. Qualifications emphasize leadership in manufacturing/engineering, Lean methods, quality systems, ERP/SAP familiarity, and people management.
Required Qualifications
- Previous Plant leadership experience in a medium to large Manufacturing/Production/Engineering environment
- Experience with Lean techniques: value stream mapping, 5S, standard work cellular flow, mistake proofing, total productive maintenance
- Experience interpreting and applying understanding of key financial indicators to inform decisions
- Experience with Quality management systems
- Experience leading a team is essential
- Experience in a disciplined and system-controlled environment
- Experience with a SQDCIP (or equivalent) production management system
- Desirable: experience working in a Trade Union environment
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
- Understanding of multiple manufacturing ERP systems including SAP
