Job Summary
Oversee daily operations across safety, quality, scheduling, production, shipping, maintenance, and administration for a plastics injection molding facility. Drive plant performance by defining clear metrics, expectations, and goals while partnering with executive management to optimize manufacturing processes and implement lean methodologies. Direct maintenance and processing teams to ensure peak equipment performance, meet target cycle times, and maintain rigorous quality standards. Manage inventory, materials, and headcount budgets to meet production demands cost-effectively, while leading a salaried management team including operations, processing, maintenance, and quality managers. Establish performance goals aligned with corporate objectives and partner with HR on training and policy enforcement. Typical work hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings, overnights, or weekends as workload requires.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor or master's degree in operations management, Business Management or a related field
- 8-10 years of senior plant management level experience in a high-speed manufacturing and operations environment
- Demonstrated success managing to the ISO or equivalent quality standards
- Strong foundational knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement tactics, raw materials management and process discipline
- Knowledge of production processes, raw materials, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
- Proficient in ERP systems, preferably Dassault systems
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Suite products with a strong emphasis on Excel
- Ability to successfully build, lead and work as a team to reach company goals in an environment in which a wide degree of creativity and latitude is required
- Ability to effectively communicate, in a professional tone and manner (both verbal and written means) expectations & directives to manufacturing staff
- Results driven, analytical, self-motivated and detail oriented with the ability to logically identify alternative solutions or approaches to complex problems
- Ability to analyze written material and properly forecast/recommend based on assessment
- Ability to multi-task with a high sense of urgency
- Track record of excellent judgment and decision-making ability
- Ability to physically move throughout the plant and perform essential duties of production floor
- Ability to read, speak and communicate through both oral and written means
- Ability to be flexible with work schedule
- Typical work hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, but there are times when this person will be working outside of their normal hours (evenings, overnights, weekends) to accomplish the necessary workload
Desired Qualifications
- Proven background in plastic injection molding environment is highly desired
- experience overseeing automated/robotic equipment is preferred
