Job Summary
Lead Winston Salem manufacturing operations to maximize financial benefit, machine utilization, and output while minimizing cost and scrap. Direct production managers and supervisors to ensure safety compliance, effective housekeeping, and continuous improvement aligned with strategic goals. Monitor production outputs, downtime, and quality service levels; evaluate manning requirements and implement training plans. Strengthen floor leadership by developing managers and supervisors, while managing departmental spending and capital requests. Evaluate employee performance through action plans and rewards, and communicate regularly with operating associates to maintain effective relations.
Required Qualifications
- BS Degree in a business or technical field
- 10+ years supervisory/management experience
- Thorough knowledge of production processes within manufacturing
- Sound working knowledge of customer relationships including volume, process, and quality requirements
- Knowledge of planning and scheduling functions
- Knowledge of financial reporting
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with varying deadlines
- Ability to work with extremely confidential information/situations and maintain confidentiality
- Excellent oral and written communications skills through all levels of management
- Some overnight travel by various modes of transportation including airline, train, and automobile as deemed appropriate
- Able to work extended hours as required
- Continuous contact with other people requiring communications via face-to-face, orally by telephone and various written methodologies
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of industry and converting equipment (desirable)
