Job Summary
Lead the Shelbyville plant's 24/7 glass manufacturing operations, ensuring 100% on-time delivery, zero-incident safety compliance, and full IATF 16949 quality system adherence. Manage a team of 400 employees, including hourly unionized staff, by overseeing production scheduling, inventory control, and capital projects while driving continuous improvement initiatives. Serve as the primary escalation contact for customer quality reviews and represent the plant in collective bargaining agreement administration. Own the annual operating budget, monitor key performance metrics such as OEE and first-pass yield, and lead new-program launches. This role supports NSG Group's position as a Tier 1 automotive glass supplier, requiring regular floor presence across all shifts and occasional travel for supplier meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or related field
- 8+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience
- 3+ years as a Plant Manager or senior operations leader in automotive components manufacturing
- Prior experience managing a unionized hourly workforce
- CBA administration experience
- Grievance handling experience
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree
- Direct experience supplying Toyota or another Japanese OEM
- Working knowledge of Toyota Production System (TPS)
- Working knowledge of Toyota Business Practices (TBP)
- Automotive glass, tempering, coating, or related glass-processing experience
- Familiarity with SAP
- Familiarity with other systems
