Job Summary
The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing daily large volume food production, sanitation, and maintenance while promoting safety and efficiency through Just in Time (JIT) principles. This role includes leading a team, ensuring product quality, developing project plans, and maintaining effective communication with departments such as Quality Assurance and Human Resources. The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree related to manufacturing or food science, 3-7 years of progressive experience in a similar environment, and be HACCP certified. Key skills include strong leadership, analytical problem solving, and a proactive approach to management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in manufacturing, engineering, food science, food technology or related field
- 3 to 7 years of large volume food and/or manufacturing experience with progressive management responsibilities
- HACCP Certified
- Strong leadership skills
- Proven work experience with large volume food production equipment
- Working knowledge of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HAACP) and sanitation and food safety training
- Critical thinking with exceptional problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead, delegate, monitor, and follow up
- Proactive, resourceful & highly motivated with good communication skills
- Ability to develop creative solutions to problems
Desired Qualifications
- Bi-lingual English Spanish highly desirable
- Excellent knowledge of ERP, LMS, WMS, Word, Excel & PowerPoint
