Job Summary
Plant Manager - Aggregate role located in Empire, MN, reporting to oversee planning, directing, organizing, coordinating, and controlling mining of raw materials and production of shippable product at the assigned plant. Responsibilities include ensuring product quality, staffing and inventory monitoring, coordinating with Dispatch, Fleet Maintenance, Quality Control, and regional administration/financial function; analyzing production efficiency/productivity to maximize asset utilization; developing mining and production strategies to raise productivity while maintaining safety and controlling costs; identifying opportunities for improved efficiency, implementing scheduling programs, and maintaining safe operations within budget; supervising subordinates, delegating responsibilities, evaluating performance, and participating in safety inspections (including MSHA); communicating with plant operators and laborers, and supporting preventative maintenance; ensuring adequate inventory to service customer needs and promoting a culture of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or Management or related field; 5-7 years aggregate mining and raw materials plant production experience; Computer proficiency with SAP experience a plus; adherence to safety protocols and PPE usage; ability to staff, monitor inventory, coordinate with dispatch, fleet maintenance, and quality control; ability to analyze production efficiency and develop strategies to raise productivity; capable of supervising and evaluating subordinates; participate in safety inspections (MSHA) and maintain safe operations; willingness to follow environmental, health and safety policies; willingness to perform related duties such as loading/operating plant equipment as needed.
