Plant Maintenance Supervisor

Job Summary

Lead overall leadership, planning, and execution of OBRC Plant Maintenance operations to ensure equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs for production equipment, including conveyors, belts, pulleys, motors, and hydraulic systems, while supervising a team responsible for troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues. Assign daily work, prioritize activities, and oversee inventory, vendor relationships, and capital repair planning. Hire, onboard, train, and evaluate maintenance employees, conduct performance reviews, and make recommendations regarding compensation and promotions. Analyze downtime trends, root causes, and equipment reliability metrics to partner with Operations leadership on improving plant performance. Adhere to OSHA regulations and company safety policies, ensuring consistent compliance across all team members and self. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and aerial lifts with required certifications.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of industrial plant maintenance experience, including hands-on mechanical and electrical work
  • 3+ years of maintenance leadership or management experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing maintenance programs, personnel, and resources
  • Experience in high-volume or continuous-operation manufacturing or recycling environments
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and supervisory skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industrial production maintenance operations
  • Ability to use power tools, AC/DC welder, and oxygen/acetylene cutting tools
  • Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification and safely operate forklifts with various attachments. Maintain an accident-free record
  • High degree of attention regarding safety requirements to prevent injury to self and others
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple projects, adhere to deadlines, handle frequent changes effectively and professionally, follow through on issues in a timely manner
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Root cause analysis and reliability-centered maintenance experience
  • Strong working knowledge of: Gearboxes, shafts, bearings, conveyors, belts, and drums, Industrial electrical systems, motors, HMIs, and VFDs
  • Demonstrated ability to work well independently and as part of a team; a self-starter, but not hesitant to ask for directions when needed
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels with both internal and external partners
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to perform basic math, such as addition and subtraction
  • Ideal candidate must have their own tools
  • A current driver's license and acceptable driving history is required
  • Must be able to frequently lift/carry up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to push/pull carts, toolboxes parts, etc. up to 50+lbs
  • Talking and hearing is frequently required
  • Vision abilities for close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods as required by the position
  • Must be able to bend/stoop/crouch/squat
  • Must be able to climb and balance on ladders as needed
  • Use arms, wrists, hands, fingers, and the ability to grasp objects for lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, writing, and keyboarding
  • Occasional in-state travel to support operational and business needs

Desired Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred, not required or any equivalent combination of training, experience and education to perform duties
  • Experience using CMMS software; UpKeep experience strongly preferred
