Job Summary
Plant Maintenance Mechanic responsible for auto mechanic tasks and maintenance of Ground Service Equipment (GSE). Performs electrical, hydraulic, and HVAC-related duties, maintains required licenses/certifications, and handles ground power/start units. Responsibilities include servicing GSE, tow operations, hazardous-waste handling, completing paperwork, coordinating with vendors, ensuring safety procedures, and assisting with various maintenance tasks to keep airport operations running smoothly. Requires reading/writing English, a valid driver’s license, state/city license, and FAA/SIDA-related background checks. Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather, rotating shifts, and travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand English
- Minimum of eighteen (18) months training from an accredited school in automotive mechanical maintenance, or 18 months mechanical experience on automotive equipment
- Possess the applicable state or city license
- Must be willing to work outdoors in any weather conditions
- Must be willing to work extra hours when there are operational needs (e.g., weather delays)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, and days off
- Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA)
- Must be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges
