Job Summary
Perform scheduled maintenance on crushers, conveyors, screens, pumps, motors, and other plant equipment while inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to prevent breakdowns. Respond promptly to equipment failures and production interruptions, assisting with cutting, welding, fabrication, and greasing tasks for plant components and structural repairs. Conduct pre-shift inspections, ensure proper lockout/tagout procedures, and complete required paperwork to maintain equipment according to Martin Marietta standards. Prioritize SAFETY, then QUALITY, followed by Production, while maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and parts usage. Adhere to MSHA safety standards and company policies, operating cranes, man-lifts, and specialty equipment as needed. Train and coach other employees on maintenance practices, ensuring backlog processes are completed and prioritized with the Supervisor and/or Plant Manager.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- 1+ years of experience related to Heavy-Duty Maintenance jobs or equivalent combination of training and experience
- preferably in the Aggregates Industry
- Equipment analysis and general repair concepts
- Troubleshooting
- MSHA compliance and regulations
- Problem solving
- Detail oriented
- Time management
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Required to bend, stoop, climb, and reach
- Must be able to maintain three points of contact when climbing on/off machinery or on ladders
- Strong hand-eye-foot coordination
- good depth perception with or without seeing aid for distances up to 150 feet
- Must be able to work in areas where noise levels are up to 85 dbs
- Flexibility and adaptability to evolving job demands
