Job Summary
Plant Health Care Technician in Vancouver, BC: perform fertilization and integrated pest management applications on trees and shrubs, diagnose plant health issues, identify pests and diseases, and educate clients about prescribed treatments. Responsibilities include completing fertilization and IPM applications, customer service and client education, proper identification of trees/shrubs and their physiology, monitoring plant health and communicating progress, operating and maintaining equipment (truck and sprayer), applying treatments to residential and commercial properties, and contributing to other tree care services as needed. Requires on-site work, valid driver’s license, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Preferred Pesticide Applicator License and background in Forestry, Horticulture, or Landscaping. Full-time with year-round employment and benefits, with salary range $22-$28/hour depending on experience. Equal Opportunity Employer.
Required Qualifications
- Pesticide Applicator License preferred
- Valid provincial driver’s license
- Tree and shrub ID, Pathology, and knowledge of tree physiology
- Strong tree and shrub identification skills
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs
- Ability to work safely as part of a team and possess the willingness to learn and progress
