Job Summary
Lead and develop the engineering mechanics team to uphold a safe, stable, and efficient production environment at our Totowa, NJ facility. Own equipment lifecycle activities including installation, maintenance, and repair to minimize downtime. Drive continuous improvement to enhance product quality, cut waste, and raise manufacturing efficiency. Design, implement, and refine a preventive maintenance strategy for critical machinery while ensuring full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Lead capital projects from planning through handover and manage budgets for cost-conscious solutions. Work shoulder-to-shoulder with Production, Quality Assurance, and R&D to troubleshoot technical challenges and advance automation and lean practices. Deliver training and mentorship to expand the plant's technical bench strength.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field; equivalent hands-on experience considered
- 5+ years of engineering, maintenance, or mechanic team supervision in food manufacturing or similar industry
- Strong command of food production processes, machinery, and food safety regulations
- Proven record leading maintenance/engineering teams and delivering technical projects
- Skilled in process optimization, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement
- Well-versed in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation systems
- Sharp troubleshooting and practical problem-solving in fast-paced environments
- Effective communicator with cross-functional collaboration skills
- Project management strengths with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and MES is advantageous
- Exposure to sustainability practices and a passion for innovation in the food sector
