Job Summary
Develop future strategic plans for the next 5, 10, and 15 years alongside the Director of Operations and Department Managers. Lead the engineering team through recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, and performance reviews while assigning tasks to suitable members. Transform ideas into actionable projects by developing construction specifications, bid packages, budget estimates, and schedules to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery. Oversee projects from inception to completion, monitor budgets and timelines, and assist operations with non-capex initiatives including plant infrastructure and safety improvements. Conduct annual Capex planning, evaluate project feasibility, and review designs to meet engineering principles and standards. Collaborate with management and teams to coordinate resources and ensure clear communication across the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Five years' experience in equipment and/or facilities layout, basic process design, material handling design, or related field
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Must be willing and able to occasionally travel for short periods of time
- Proficiency in Excel
- Proficiency in Word
- Proficiency in Auto-CAD
- Proficiency in Adept
- Proficiency in SAP PS
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project
- Analytical skills for evaluating information carefully and solving complex problems
- Communication skills for overseeing staff, other management personnel, hourly employees and contractors / vendors
- Detail-oriented for understanding complex systems and the ability to pay attention to details
- Ability to read detailed AutoCAD drawings
- Proficient abilities to modify drawings in AutoCAD
- Organizational skills for keeping track of various budgets, employees and schedules simultaneously
