Plant Engineering Manager II

Job Summary

Manage plant assets, control capital budget spending, and supervise maintenance resources while acting as project manager for capital projects. Confers with vendors to determine specifications, evaluate products against quality standards, and analyze maintenance workforce utilization, predictive/preventative maintenance, and design layouts for maximum efficiency. Provide technical advice on plant operations, prepare engineering analyses including preliminary and life cycle cost studies, and develop manufacturing controls and automation. Conduct PHA, PSSR, and HAZOP studies. On-call for after-hour emergencies. Requires 5+ years in chemical or paper manufacturing and a Professional Engineer registration.

Required Qualifications

  • S. ideally in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • 5+ years plant maintenance/engineering/project engineering experience in chemical or paper manufacturing
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated record of leadership, teamwork, adaptability, innovation and initiative
  • Ability to work well with all levels of personnel throughout the facility and the company
  • On call – carries a cell phone and responds to after hour emergencies
  • 1+ years of experience managing direct reports.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in TPM, 6 Sigma, Lean, 5S
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer
  • Experience in PSM program implementation and maintenance
