Job Summary
The Plant Engineering Manager role involves overseeing plant assets, controlling and reporting capital budget spending, and managing projects related to plant capital improvements. Responsibilities include hiring and supervising maintenance resources, optimizing workforce utilization, and providing technical advice on operations and improvements. Candidates should have a B.S. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering and over 5 years of relevant industry experience. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. ideally in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
- 5+ years plant maintenance, engineering, project engineering or industrial manufacturing
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated record of leadership, teamwork, adaptability, innovation and initiative
- Ability to work well with all levels of personnel throughout the facility and the company
- Proven ability to create and maintain a professional safety culture
- In depth knowledge of machine safeties, OSHA and LOTO
- On call – carries a cell phone and responds to after hour emergencies
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in TPM, 6 Sigma, Lean, 5S
- Experience working with continuous and batch processes; Paper, Tissue, Non-Woven, Coating, Engineered Wood/Panels, Printing, or Chemical processes
- Experience in PSM program implementation and maintenance
