Plant Engineer - Small

Job Summary
Lead the maintenance and engineering function in a high-performing food-manufacturing plant, owning capital-project development from concept to completion and driving site-wide improvements. Develop and implement cutting-edge maintenance systems (Preventive and Predictive Maintenance, TPM) to maximize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and optimize production flow. Manage maintenance staff and safety programs, coach team members, and ensure compliance with federal/state regulations. Drive KPIs related to equipment reliability, supplier performance, and overall equipment effectiveness; collaborate across engineering and operations to deliver on-time, on-budget projects while maintaining food safety and environmental standards. Leverage technical expertise in mechanical/electrical domains (PLCs, instrumentation) and strong data-analysis abilities to deliver innovative technology projects and continuous improvement initiatives, supporting capacity planning and higher plant efficiency. Lead cross-functional efforts, communicate clearly, and foster a culture of accountability, training, and development within the maintenance and engineering teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
- 8+ years’ relevant experience
- 2+ years of team management/development or project leadership
- Proficiency in mechanical/electrical fields (e.g. PLCs, instrumentation)
- Knowledge of maintenance systems, preventive/predictive maintenance, TPM
- Ability to use exposure monitoring equipment and interpret results
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work long hours and weekends
