Job Summary
Plant Engineer to support two facilities (Faribault Energy Park and Minnesota River Station) overseeing turbine and auxiliary systems, O&M planning, reliability improvements, NERC compliance, safety, training, and capital projects; travel to multiple plant sites for maintenance, startup/shutdown support, and regulatory compliance; develop and maintain SOPs and training materials, coordinate with vendors and contractors, monitor plant performance, and drive continuous improvement to maximize availability and efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required
- Demonstrated proficiency in power plant operations and engineering
- Experience with turbine and auxiliary systems, maintenance processes, and startup/shutdown procedures
- Knowledge of DCS/PLC and performance monitoring tools
- Proficiency with condition monitoring (vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis) and instrumentation calibration
- Experience implementing reliability improvements and capital projects
- Working knowledge of emissions, environmental, and regulatory compliance (CEMS/DAHS)
- Ability to develop SOPs, train staff, and coordinate with vendors/contractors
- Strong analytical, communication, and budgeting/inventory management skills
- Valid U.S. driver's license
- Willingness to travel between sites and perform on-site duties
