Job Summary
Plant Engineer responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing high-speed packaging equipment and plant systems. Lead equipment installations and upgrades, ensure electrical/mechanical/control system integrity (including PLCs), develop preventive maintenance programs, analyze performance data to improve efficiency and reduce waste, ensure safety and regulatory compliance (lockout/tagout, machine guarding), and support continuous improvement initiatives and QA/QC/audits in a beverage canning environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field AND/OR a Licensed Electrician
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including wiring, motors, and basic PLC programming
- Solid mechanical skills and experience with high-speed production equipment
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
- Must have experience with QA/QC, food safety, food defense, HACCP, and GFSI audits
- Certifications in electrical or mechanical systems are a plus
