Job Summary

Implement project improvements driving manufacturing performance in speed, waste, cost, and quality reduction. Obtain project quotes, recommend contractor awards, and direct contractors for timely completion. Provide cost, risk, and return analysis for project approval. Test and commission newly installed machines to ensure contract specifications are met. Develop plans addressing plant operations, optimizing utilities, energy consumption, and equipment installation. Provide engineering oversight for facility infrastructure including boilers, HVAC, and power transmission. Plan, direct, and coordinate design, construction, modification, and maintenance of plant equipment. Troubleshoot equipment issues and recommend resolutions. Define and resolve process problems through continuous improvement and structured problem-solving. Make observations, take measurements, and interpret data to develop and implement process improvements. Work closely with operators and staff overseeing quality control, maintenance, and production schedules.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degree)
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing
  • Multi-disciplinary knowledge of engineering
  • Ability to innovate using practical, economical solutions and/or strategies
  • Demonstrated knowledge and use of AutoCad
  • Demonstrated knowledge and use of Solidworks
  • Technical skill categories focusing on piping
  • Technical skill categories focusing on pressure vessels
  • Technical skill categories focusing on machinery
  • Sound knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and its practical implementation
  • Experience in making data-driven decisions
  • Utilization of statistics to solve problems and monitor processes
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)
  • Ability to effectively work with others in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Legal ability to work in the United States
  • Travel is primarily local during the business day
  • Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected
  • Some specific training may require international travel

Desired Qualifications

  • Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degree preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma skills and experience preferred
