Job Summary
Perform installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting on all plant electrical systems, including power boilers, turbines, generators, transformers, and high-voltage switching up to 230 KV. Diagnose AC and DC circuits, manage motor control systems, and maintain programmable logic controllers and variable speed drives. Work from elevated catwalks and confined spaces while adhering to NERC/FERC requirements and safety protocols. Respond to after-hours call outs and work extended hours as part of the union position. Requires a 4-year electrical apprenticeship and ability to lift 50 lbs occasionally. Required Qualifications
- 4-year electrical apprenticeship in power generation plants, substations or other industrial settings
- demonstrate general electrical knowledge through testing
- ability to work from ladders, bucket trucks, and elevated catwalks
- ability to work in dusty atmospheres
- ability to work in cold/hot conditions
- ability to work in confined spaces
- ability to work on stack lighting at an elevation of 500 feet
- ability to use safety personal protective equipment
- ability to lift at least 50 lbs occasionally
- ability to respond to after-hours call outs
- ability to work extended hours
- ability to provide a phone number for after-hours contact
Desired Qualifications
- Medium voltage experience
- Prior experience in an electric power plant and/or substation equipment/voltages
