Job Summary
The Plant Electrician/Journeyman performs preventive maintenance and diagnostic repair on industrial facilities, equipment, and processes. Responsibilities include handling maintenance work orders to support plant needs, troubleshooting and repairing electrical components (motors, relays, overloads, cables, switches, sensors, VFDs, servo motors, DeviceNet/ControlNet), programming and interfacing with PLCs (Allen-Bradley), maintaining hardware networking/communications, supporting industrial control system projects, and calibrating instrumentation while adhering to safety procedures and quality standards. Requires understanding of industrial control systems, PLC ladder logic, and the ability to work across hardware/software for full-system upgrades, instrumentation calibration, and process control. Educational requirement is a high school diploma or GED with extensive industrial electrical experience or approved apprenticeship/vocational training. Physical duties emphasize safe operation per Safety Cardinal Rules and collaboration on internal projects.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 4 years of Industrial Electrical Experience OR Completion of Apprenticeship Program plus 2 years of Industrial Electrical Experience OR Completion of Vocational School Industrial Electrical Program plus 2 years of Industrial Electrical Experience
