Job Summary

Execute automation solutions and control systems for plant processes, including design, configuration, and troubleshooting of electrical and instrumentation functions. Implement control strategies based on best practices, analyze schematics, and collaborate with fix/support teams to identify improvements and provide training. Perform physical tasks involving moderate exertion, lifting up to 50 pounds, and extended standing in a food processing environment with exposure to heat, cold, and wet conditions. Requires a 6-day work week and availability for 2nd and 3rd shifts.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without the need of a Visa sponsorship
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Knowledge of PLC/HMI/Controls programming languages
  • Ability to update and troubleshoot a range of electrical or instrumentation systems
  • Ability to read and analyze electrical schematics
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well in a team or individual environment and be a self-starter
  • Ability to pass an Electrical Aptitude Test
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • This position requires availability for a 6 day work week
  • Ability to lift objects weighing more than 50 pounds
  • Ability to lift 10-25 pounds
  • Ability to bend
  • Ability to stoop
  • Ability to squat
  • Ability to twist
  • Ability to reach
  • Ability to work on irregular surfaces
  • Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous Cargill Experience
  • Ability to understand continuous and batch process control strategies
  • Possess a working understanding of the production process
  • Ability to configure and program a variety of control systems including PLC and HMI systems
  • Knowledge of reliability centered maintenance, planning and scheduling
  • Automation, Electrical, and / or Instrumentation experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens
  • Design and implementation knowledge of plant digital business technologies
