Job Summary
Plant Electrician responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing complex industrial electrical equipment and systems in Cargill’s protein and salt business. Performs preventative and corrective electrical maintenance, assists in installation, calibration, and start-up of new equipment, and works with electrical schematics, pneumatics, hydraulics, industrial control systems, programmable logic controls, electrical construction, high voltage power, distribution and instrumentation. Adheres to Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) and Food Safety/FSQR requirements, monitors quality of work, and operates within HACCP/FDA frameworks; must be able to work with minimal supervision and perform tasks across multiple products and processes in an on-site plant environment. Requires relevant electrical trades certifications (309A/442A) and ability to work extended hours as needed; relocation assistance not provided.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
- Possession of Construction Electrician 309A or Industrial Manufacturing Electrician 442A by the Ontario College of Trades or Red Seal certification
- Ability to read and understand English (verbal/written)
- Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice
