Job Summary
Plant Electrician position in Ingersoll, Ontario for Cargill’s protein and salt business. Performs skilled electrical tasks to install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and/or modify complex industrial equipment, processes and/or systems; diagnose causes of malfunctions; perform preventative and corrective electrical maintenance; assist in installation, calibration and start-up of new equipment. Requires knowledge of electrical schematics, pneumatics, hydraulics, industrial control systems, PLCs, high voltage power, distribution and instrumentation; operates within food safety and environmental standards (HACCP/FDA) and EHS/FSQR policies; may require overtime and shift work. Requires Ontario 309A or 442A certification or Red Seal; relocation not provided.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
- Possession of Construction Electrician 309A or Industrial Manufacturing Electrician 442A by the Ontario College of Trades or Red Seal certification
- Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
- Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions with PPE
- Basic use of a computer and typing skills
- Ability to understand and communicate in English
- Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice
