Job Summary
Elementis is seeking an experienced Plant Controller for its Livingston manufacturing operations to lead plant accounting, budgeting, variance analysis, and financial reporting. The role partners with plant leadership to drive cost improvements, maintain standard costs, oversee inventory, and support budgeting/forecasting using JD Edwards ERP. Strong analytical, communication, and independent-working skills are required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing plant accounting
- Degree in Finance or Accounting
- ERP systems experience required
- JD Edwards knowledge is an advantage
- Knowledge of plant accounting, forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, inventory control, and cost-benefit analysis
- Experience with monthly closing and manufacturing variance review
- Strong analytical skills for problem solving
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Experience with work orders close and plant product costing
- Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Ability to partner with Plant Manager and site team
Desired Qualifications
- CIMA or equivalent certification preferred
- Experience as lead plant accountant or in a senior plant accounting role
- JD Edwards ERP experience (preferred)
- Process improvement/change agent mindset
- Experience with cost-benefit analysis and capital planning (desirable)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Experience with budgeting and forecasting in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with standard costing and inventory controls (cycle counts, reconciliations)
