PLANT ACCOUNTANT I

Job Summary
Plant Accountant I supports the monthly financial close for the Lexington operation and prepares value-added financial and operational reports. Provides cost/financial analysis to improve operational performance, performs balance sheet and income statement reconciliations, and serves as the local AP contact, collaborating with corporate AP. Delivers daily/weekly KPI reporting, assists in developing the Lexington budgeting process, implements annual standard cost changes, and leads cost-reduction initiatives. Performs financial analysis for special projects and ensures adherence to local, corporate, and statutory accounting policies, controls, and the NSG/Pilkington Standards of Business Conduct and Safety Leadership Behaviors. Preferred experience with SAP; strong Excel/Office skills; ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related fields
- Working knowledge of inventory and accounting systems, understanding of cost absorption, standard costing, and GAAP
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point
- Customer focused, willing to learn the business and get involved
- Ability to work independently. Strong Analytical Skills
- Well developed interpersonal, verbal and writing skills
Desired Qualifications
- MBA
- CPA or CMA certification preferred
- Experience with SAP preferred
