Plant Accountant

Job Summary
Analyze manufacturing performance metrics including labor, waste, and inventory while investigating variances and supporting root cause analysis. Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals to support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities. Partner with operations leadership to identify issues and support continuous improvement through regular engagement in plant activities. Manage inventory accounting for operating supplies, packaging, and chemicals to ensure accurate financial reporting. Provide financial support for purchasing and capital projects while collaborating with engineering and supply chain teams. Requires five days on-site at the Raeford facility with travel to other locations as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Manufacturing cost accounting experience strongly preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
- Experience with ERP accounting systems preferred
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively partner with operations and finance personnel
- Demonstrated initiative, intellectual curiosity, and ability to investigate business issues and explain financial performance
- Comfortable working within a manufacturing environment and engaging directly with plant personnel
