Job Summary
Review residential construction plans and structural documents to ensure compliance with city codes, ordinances, and policies. Interpret blueprints, calculations, and specifications, then perform field inspections when necessary. Coordinate plan review with engineering, fire, and planning departments, and communicate corrections or code requirements to contractors and developers. Maintain plan review records and reports. Requires ICC certification, a valid driver's license, and 1-3 years of experience in plan checking or building construction. Located in Lake Havasu City, AZ.
Required Qualifications
- Associates/Technical degree with coursework in building construction, or related field
- 1-3 years' experience in plan checking or building construction, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Possession of Building Plans Examiner Certification or Residential Plans Examiner Certification issued by the International Code Council (ICC) at hire
- Must meet and maintain all training and education requirements for the position
- Valid Driver License of appropriate class
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
