Job Summary
Oversee daily planning operations by supervising staff, administering land use regulations, and reviewing development applications for the City of Moses Lake. Serve as the SEPA Official and Shoreline Management Program administrator, ensuring timely permitting compliance with state and local codes. Lead hearings, prepare commission reports, and interpret zoning regulations while providing professional guidance to developers and the public. Manage workflow priorities, coordinate with external agencies, and conduct performance evaluations for assigned planning personnel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Urban or Regional Planning, Geography, Environmental Studies, Public Administration, or a related field
- Three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible professional planning experience
- Experience reviewing land use applications and performing SEPA analysis
- Previous experience in municipal government sector
- All applicants must be able to successfully pass a background check process which includes reference checks and criminal history checks
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Urban Planning or related field
- AICP
- Prior supervisory experience
