Planning Manager - Major Capital Projects

Job Summary

Develop the Work Breakdown Structure and baseline Level 1–4 project schedules in Primavera P6 for major capital projects ranging from $500M to $10B+. Integrate contractor, subcontractor, and vendor schedules into a single master plan while resolving logic conflicts and coordinating interfaces with operations and regulatory authorities. Define earned value methodology, produce weekly progress reports including S-curves and critical path analysis, and deliver credible forecast completion dates supported by trend data. Execute quantitative schedule risk analysis to establish completion confidence and support change, claims, and delay discussions with defensible positions. Lead the planning team, mentor resources, and establish coding standards to ensure schedule integrity across the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related technical discipline
  • Equivalent experience with strong technical grounding
  • 12+ years of planning/scheduling experience on EPC or EPCM capital projects
  • 5+ years at lead or manager level on projects exceeding $500M
  • Demonstrated ownership of a full project lifecycle schedule from FEED through commissioning and handover
  • Expert-level Primavera P6 (multi-project, resource-loaded, cost-loaded environments)
  • Working command of earned value management, critical path method, and progress measurement in a contractual EPC setting
  • Experience managing planning teams and coordinating multiple contractor schedules
