Job Summary

Manage a team of professional development management planners and technical staff while making delegated planning decisions on behalf of the Director of Planning and Building Control for the London Borough of Barnet. Lead the development process from pre-application stages through validation to project completion, ensuring compliance with planning legislation and local policies. Assess technical documents for planning applications, support the Planning Enforcement function, and organize meetings with developers and stakeholders to negotiate development details and planning obligations. Project manage complex proposals and analyze performance across the Development Management function. Hybrid attendance at the office is required for fixed days, with potential travel outside the borough for service delivery.
